Mile Marker #10: My Collaboration Profile

The assignment, with support, and a form you can fill in and save.

About 15 minutes 8 of 9 in this module

How you work best with others, and how you plan to work even better.

This module you explored your 16Personalities results and what helps (and doesn't) when you're working with others. This Mile Marker asks you to put that into a short, honest profile.

There's no "best" type for collaboration, only an honest answer and a vague one. Be honest. That's what earns full credit.

AI use: AI-supported

You may use AI to help you organize your thoughts. Your final responses must be in your own words. AI doesn't know how you collaborate. You do.

See the AI Course Policy in the syllabus. Want a place to start? Try the optional AI thinking partner prompt.

Where to submit

Submit your responses in the Mile Marker #10 assignment in Blackboard. Check Blackboard for the due date.

Want help keeping it organized? The fill-in form at the bottom of this page saves your answers as a PDF named "Mile Marker #10" that you can upload to the assignment. Your Collaboration Snapshot has most of what you need.

Prefer paper? A printable handout for this Mile Marker is with the assignment in Blackboard. Fill it in by hand, then upload a photo or scan.

Question 1

Your Type, Strengths & Challenges

What's your 16Personalities type? Describe it in your own words: one short phrase, not the official description. Then name two collaboration strengths and one or two challenges that honestly fit you.

Example: "INFJ-T: quiet planner who likes meaningful work. I'm an organized planner and a calm problem-solver, but I tend to avoid conflict and take on too much."

Strengths word bank: clear communicator · organized planner · calm problem-solver · creative idea generator · supportive teammate · detail-checker · mediator · flexible and adaptable · big-picture thinker · dependable follow-through

Challenges word bank: hard to get started · taking on too much · hard to speak up · avoiding conflict · too blunt · overwhelmed by chaos · frustrated by unclear instructions · perfectionism · withdrawing under stress · trouble reading tone

A strong answer

Gives your type in your own words, and names two strengths and one or two challenges that sound like you, not like a quiz summary.

Question 2

Why, and What Helps

Pick one challenge from Question 1 and explain why it happens for you. Think of it as a tendency, not a flaw: needing structure, being introverted, processing fast or slow, group anxiety, or how your brain works. (Sharing anything about neurodivergence is always optional.)

  • Then name three strategies that help you work better with others.
  • For one of them, describe a real group experience where it helped, or would have helped.

Example: "Group chaos overwhelms me because I process information better when expectations are clear."

Strategies word bank: setting expectations early · asking clarifying questions · breaking tasks into smaller pieces · using a shared doc · choosing a role that fits my strengths · pausing before reacting · setting mini-deadlines · being honest about what I need

A strong answer

Explains the why behind one challenge, names three strategies that fit you, and connects one to a real experience.

Question 3

What You Need From Your Team

In one sentence, simple and respectful, what do you need from teammates to do your best work?

Examples: "I work best when tasks and deadlines are clearly divided." "I thrive when I can think before speaking."

  • Optional: What does it look like when that need is met, and when it isn't?
A strong answer

Is one clear sentence that's specific, respectful, and something you could actually say to a real team.

Optional: AI thinking partner

If you'd like help organizing your profile, try this prompt in Microsoft Copilot or another AI tool:

"Help me organize a short Collaboration Profile for a college reflection assignment. My type, strengths, challenges, and what helps me are: [paste your notes]. Ask me one or two questions to make it more specific, then help me turn it into a clear summary."

Use what's useful, but your final response must be in your own words. Leave out your full name and other identifying details.

How it's scored

Mile Markers are scored on reflection, engagement, and effort, not perfection. Strong responses are honest, specific, and sound like you, including the "why." Generic answers that could apply to anyone won't earn full credit.
