Who's Your Success Coach?

Every Pathfinder needs a guide. Here's how to find yours.

About 3 minutes 2 of 9 in this module

Your Success Coach is here to help you navigate college life, connect to resources, and stay on track toward your goals.

Knowing who they are, and how to reach them, before you need help is one of the smartest moves you can make.

Find your Success Coach

There are two ways to look up your coach. Use whichever one you're more comfortable with.

Option 1

Student Self-Service

  1. Go to Student Self-Service (opens in a new tab) and select Login Here.
  2. Enter your User ID in all capital letters, for example JSMITH0004.
  3. Enter your password and select Sign In.
  4. Select Main Menu → Self Service → Student Center.
  5. From your Student Homepage, select the Advising & Classes tile.
  6. In the left menu, look for Academic Advisor(s). Your Success Coach's information appears there.

You can also reach Student Self-Service through KCTCS MyPath (opens in a new tab). The Student Self-Service Tutorials (opens in a new tab) cover your schedule, enrolling, and payments.

Option 2

Starfish

  1. Log in to Starfish through MyPath (opens in a new tab) or from your Blackboard course menu.
  2. Select My Success Network.
  3. Find your assigned Success Coach and note their name, photo, and contact information.

Next steps

Once you've found your coach:

  • Save their name and contact information somewhere you'll find it: your phone contacts, a note, wherever works for you.
  • Introduce yourself. A short email now makes it much easier to reach out later. Lesson 2.4 shows you how to write it.
Pathfinder Tip

Your Success Coach is your compass. Check in before you're lost, not after. A quick email early in the semester is far easier than a crisis conversation near the end.
