Pathfinder Guidebook · FYE 100 Module 7 · Knowing Your Strengths & Values
10 Essential Skills you'll build

Why this matters

You've spent the last several modules building awareness of your time, your money, and your academic direction. This module turns the focus inward, from what you're doing to who you are.

Your strengths and values shape how you learn, how you work with others, what drains you, and what energizes you. Understanding them is one of the most useful things you can do for the rest of this semester, and beyond.

Merit reminder: Merit Activity #2 is due with this module

Find an activity, then submit your reflection to the Merit Activity #2 link in Blackboard. Check Blackboard for the due date. The Merit Guide has your options, what proof to include, and how to write your reflection.

What you'll be able to do

By the end of this module:

  1. Objective A: I can identify my Top 5 HIGH5 strengths and explain what they mean for how I learn and work.

You'll show this in Mile Marker #7
  2. Objective B: I can identify my Top 5 personal values and describe how they shape my decisions and priorities.

You'll show this in the Values Journal (online) or class discussion (in person)
  3. Objective C: I can connect my strengths and values to my academic habits, career direction, and how I work with others.

You'll show this in Mile Marker #7
  4. Objective D: I can recognize one blind spot that comes with my strengths and describe what to watch for.

You'll show this in Mile Marker #7
