Can't make it to campus? These options count toward Merit, too.

On-demand and virtual options are mainly for online students, but anyone can use them. What's available changes from semester to semester, so this page is updated regularly. Your instructor also posts the current Merit listing in Blackboard, and that listing is always the final word.

What's available

Career Services workshops

OCTC Career Services

Career Services offers workshops each semester on topics like resumes, interviewing, and career readiness. Some are virtual or on demand.

How to find it: Check the current Merit listing your instructor posts in Blackboard for this semester's workshops and how to join them.

Proof: A screenshot, confirmation email, or certificate of completion.

Making an on-demand activity count

  • Make sure it's approved. Use an option on this page or on your instructor's Merit listing. Found something else online? Ask your instructor before you start.
  • Save your proof as you go. Take a screenshot of the confirmation or the last screen, or save your certificate.
  • Give it your full attention. An on-demand session is only as useful as the attention you bring to it. Your reflection will show the difference.
  • Reflect and submit. Include the session name and the date you completed it, and attach your proof.
