Finish Your STAR(T) Stories
Final review, and how to submit your capstone.
This is the module to finish and submit your four STAR(T) Stories.
If you started in Module 11, you're most of the way there. Use this module to finish any remaining stories, give all four a final review, and turn them in. Your stories are your capstone: four true stories that show what you've built this semester, in your own voice.
Mile Marker #11, Question 4, where you named your four skills and stories
Where you are
Open each practice guide and see where that story stands. Then spend your time on the ones that need it most.
Each skill opens its practice guide in the STAR(T) Stories Guide, where you can finish your draft and check how long it runs out loud.
Final review
Before you submit, run each story through this list.
- All five steps are there. Situation, Task, Action, Result, and Transfer.
- The Action is yours. You say "I," not just "we," and you name what you actually did.
- The skill is evident, not just stated. Someone listening could name the skill even if you didn't.
- The Transfer is specific. You say how and where this skill shows up next: your next classes, a job, your life, rather than "this will help me."
- It sounds like you. Not a template, and not AI-generated.
- Your fourth story explains your choice. Start it by naming the skill and why you chose it.
What Makes a Strong Story, with three fixes that move a story up
Submitting your stories
- Submit your stories in the Capstone module in Blackboard, one response for each skill. Check Blackboard for the due date.
- Record each one (video or audio) or type it directly into the submission box. Tell It Out Loud walks you through recording.
- Recordings are never scored on delivery, only on the story and its structure.
Say each story out loud once before you record it. The preparation matters more than the recording.
AI Literacy BE Honest BE Reflective
Your stories, your voice
AI can ask you questions that help you remember details or tighten a step. It can't know what happened to you, and a story AI wrote won't sound like you, because it isn't.
Use AI the way the assignment's AI use label allows, and tell the story yourself.
